Top stunt riders impress

THE skills and talents of two of Australia's best stunt riders were on display for thousands of fans gathering at the Australian Supermoto Championships on the weekend.

The three day event kicked off with a live stunt show by Australia's number one stunt rider Lukey Luke Follacchio from LLSTUNT Streetbike Freestyle who teamed up for the first time with 51-Fifty stunt rider Tjay Orsum.

The Reef Gateway car park in Cannonvale was transformed into a freestyle motocross track with crowds gathering around every barrier to get as close to the action as possible late on Friday afternoon.

Riding his KTM 690 Duke R motorcycle, Follacchio delivered an electrifying performance of technical stunts as he manoeuvred around the tight space keeping the spectators begging for more.

"I really like performing in tight places because you can really feed of the energy of the crowds, give them a high five and keep them involved," he said.

The dynamic duo then performed during breaks in championship racing at the Whitsunday Raceway.

For the first time, Follacchio took to the track on his custom built KTM 990 Superduke R which he adapted by adding an eight inch extended swing for intense sideways action.

"I've always wanted to do it so I put the eight inch extended swing arms on it the day before I left and this was the first time I tried it out and I haven't had that much fun on a bike in a long time," Follacchio said.

When asked about his new partnership with 51-Fifty stunt rider Tjay Orsum, Follacchio said he was impressed by his performance.

Orsum said he loved the experience of performing in the Whitsundays and thanked the crowd for their support.
