COMMUNITY support for the family of missing Gatton teenager Jayde Kendall has not diminished despite the search entering its 13th day.

The Gatton township last night held a moving candlelight vigil for the missing 16-year-old who has not been seen since Friday, August 16.

Jayde's aunt Jenny Morrissey has spoken on social media of the family's desperate desire for news and information on the mature young woman's whereabouts.

"Our hearts are aching to be filled with the love that she gives us," Mrs Morrissey posted on Facebook yesterday.

"She is the missing piece that completes our family picture and makes this family complete and whole.

"We need our Jayde back.

"So please, if you have any info (sic) on her whereabouts or you know anything that might be relevent (sic) to bring Jayde back and once again make us whole ring Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."

Mrs Morrissey said it had been "12 days since we have been able to tell our beautiful girl how much we love her".

"How proud we are of her," she posted.

Hundreds of people last night gathered at the Peace Lutheran Church in Gatton to offer support and prayers for Jayde's safe return to her distraught family.

Lockyer Valley Mayor Steve Jones said the community had refused to give up hope the teen would be found, and urged residents to remain optimistic of a miracle return.

Police this week urged all residents in the area to check their backyards and properties for anything unusual and report it immediately to Crime Stoppers or police.

Detectives investigating the teen's disappearance have also called on anyone who saw a red 2003 red Toyota Corolla driving around Gatton and surrounding areas between 3pm and 6pm on Friday, August 14, to report the sighting to police.
