Traffic cop charged with drink driving in Ipswich
A TRAFFIC cop who was allegedly caught drink driving early this morning will appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court this month.
The 45-year-old sergeant from the Road Policing Command was off duty and driving a private vehicle when he came to the attention of police.
When tested, the sergeant allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.133 percent - more than 2 and a half times the legal limit.
He will appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on August 22 to face two charges; driving while under the influence and obstruct police.
The sergeant has not been stood down from official duty.
