
Tributes flow for Pacific Mwy crash victim Crystal Chao
TRIBUTES have poured in for a Taiwanese international student who died in a head-on collision at Chinderah on Sunday.
Crystal Chao, 30, died at the scene when the white sedan she was travelling in crossed the median strip and crashed into a vehicle heading north near the Chinderah Pacific Motorway on-ramp.
Tweed-Byron police said the driver of the vehicle was hurled through a windscreen by the impact of the collision at speeds in excess of 100km-hour.
In the wake of the tragedy, friends and family of Ms Chao have paid their respects on social media.
"You were one of the most amazing person the universe could bring in my life, I will be always grateful with you for share your happiness and your time with me my friend," Pablo Méndez Ángel said.

Vicki Kersey said: "RIP Crystal Chao. You were one of my first students and always brought joy to our classes. You will be missed by everyone who knew you, I'm sure."

The NSW Coroner and forensic crash officers from Tweed-Byron are set to investigate the circumstances which led to the driver losing control of the vehicle.
Two other women involved in the accident, including Ms Chao's passenger, were taken to Gold Coast University hospital to be treated for head and neck injuries.
