Two boys, 14, avoid road spikes, roll stolen car

TWO boys have been charged after allegedly stealing a car before it crashed and rolled in Toowoomba overnight.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the incident happened about 3.20am last night.

The spokeswoman said a stolen 2009 Honda Jazz was being driven dangerously throughout Toowoomba.

Police were forced to deploy road spikes on West St but the vehicle swerved to avoid them and as a result lost control of the car and it rolled.

Two 14-year-old boys were in the car at the time and were taken to Toowoomba Hospital.

Both have been charged over the incident with one count each of burglary and commit indictable offence.

However, both face a raft of other unrelated charges.

A 14-year-old Oakey boy is also facing further charges of burglary, commit indictable offence, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of driving unlicensed, three counts of enter premise and commit indictable offence, enter premise with intent to commit indictable offence, receiving tainted property, stealing, unlawful use and wilful damage.

A 14-year-old Harristown boy is facing further charges of burglary, commit indictable offence, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of utensils or pipes, possession of dangerous drugs, receiving tainted property, stealing and unlawful use.
