Two injured in two-vehicle crash at Torquay
UPDATE: TWO people were taken to Hervey Bay Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a crash in Torquay.
A 38-year-old Urangan man was driving his Holden Statesman west on Torquay Terrace when it collided with a white Toyota Camry at the Tavistock St intersection.
The Camry driver, a 24-year-old woman from Arundel, escaped injury, but her passenger was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Similarly, the Holden driver escaped injury but his teenaged passenger was cut out of the car by the attending Hervey Bay Fire Station personnel.
The teenager was also taken to hospital.
EARLIER: A TWO-vehicle crash forced the closure of the Tavistock Street and Torquay Terrace intersection in Hervey Bay this evening.
The crash occurred about 5.40pm outside Hervey Bay Fire Station.
Acting station officer Michael McIntyre said it was a reminder for motorists to be fully aware of their surroundings.
"We need people to watch the roads, watch everything happening around them, drive carefully and to the conditions," he said.
The condition of those involved is currently not known.
