Unassailable lead for Lorenzo

YAMAHA rider Jorge Lorenzo has taken an almost unassailable lead in the 2012 MotoGP riders championship after winning his sixth race in the series in San Marino.

Lorenzo now leads arch rival, Honda's Dani Pedrosa by 38 points, with Aussie Casey Stoner still in third (a further 46 points adrift), despite being sidelined with a badly-injured ankle. The next race will be at Aragon in Spain on September 30.
