Under-13s shine in Mackay

AUSSIE RULES: The under-13s made it one win from two games for the Whitsunday Sea Eagles last Saturday, demolishing the Mackay City Hawks.

Whitsunday won 7.12.54 to 2.4.16 at Harrup Park last weekend, led by strong games from Jayden Clark, Callum McMurdo and Oscar Doland.

It was a particularly memorable outing for Oscar 'Noodle' Lindsay who kicked his first Aussie rules goal.

The under-15s lost their battle with the Hawks, falling 61-50 in a close game. The Sea Eagles led at halftime but were overrun by a determined City team.

The seniors didn't play due to Harrup Park being unavailable but they will take on the North Mackay Saints this coming weekend.

Whitsunday is in sixth position on the Allied Pickfords Cup ladder while the Saints occupy third spot.

Saturday's game will be played at Zeolla Park at 2.45pm. The under-13s, 15s and 17s have matches on Saturday.
