WHITSUNDAY Police were called to an undisclosed threat at Bunnings Cannonvale this afternoon.

A Queensland Police representative said police attended the store, which was evacuated, shortly before 2pm to have "a look around and see what kind of threats are being made and what they can see".

The representative said there appeared to have "been a couple called in", including similar incidents at the North Mackay and Rockhampton Bunnings stores.

Shoppers at the Mackay store reported they were evacuated due to a bomb threat.

At the time of going to press, Pandanus Dr remained closed and the nature of the threat to the Cannonvale store had not been disclosed.
