VIDEO: Watch a time-lapse of Toowoomba's new OCR

ROME wasn't built in a day, and neither was Toowoomba's new ring road.

Toowoomba Regional Council and contractor Probuild Civil have released a time-lapse video which shows how the $45 million Outer Circulating Road Victoria St extension was constructed.

Workers had to battle through wet conditions and at one point the site was flooded.

The project was built to improve traffic efficiency in the inner city and ease congestion at the Ruthven and Margaret Sts intersection.

It was opened to traffic at about 11.50am on Monday.
