Welsh call for Rebels captain

GARETH Delve was calling the plays from the comfort of a radio commentary box when the Wallabies tackled Wales in the first Test at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.

The Melbourne Rebels captain will find himself in full voice on the field tonight.

Delve, who won the last of his 11 international caps in March 2010, has been named in the Welsh side to take on the Australian Conference-leading Brumbies in a tour match in Canberra.

Wales caretaker coach Rob Howley has called Delve into the 34-man tour squad to replace No 8 Toby Faletau.

Faletau has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests with a broken hand suffered in the 27-19 defeat in Brisbane. But it's not only the Welsh who have injury concerns.

The Wallabies have prop Sekope Kepu in doubt with a hand injury, which could open the door for Brumbies tight-head Dan Palmer to start in Melbourne on Saturday night after his impressive debut against Scotland.

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans is otherwise set to retain the same starting side, although he has brought winger Dom Shipperley and utility back Bernard Foley back into his 30-man squad while fullback Luke Morahan and lock Kane Douglas have stepped out.

Deans said Kurtley Beale, who remains under ARU investigation for an altercation at a Brisbane hotel, remains an outside chance of returning from a shoulder injury in the game.
