Wet road a factor in Cannonvale car crash
AT about 7.30pm yesterday a silver four wheel drive lost control travelling west on Shute Harbour Road.
The car was perched precariously on the top of a steep embankment just off the roundabout that leads to the Cannonvale TAFE campus.
Officer in Charge of the Whitsunday Police Station Barry Haran said the vehicle lost control while negotiating the roundabout then skidded through a council owned fence before coming to rest in a drainage ditch.
The only male occupant was uninjured.
"A contributing factor was the wet road at the time of the accident," Senior Sergeant Haran said.
With more wet weather expected for the weekend Snr Sgt Haran urged motorists to slow down in the wet.
