Whales spotted

THE first reported whale of the season was sighted yesterday morning in Edgecumbe Bay between Bowen and Middle Island.

The humpback whale was spotted by head skipper at Eco Jet Safari Shane May just minutes before midday.

Owner and Director of Eco Jet Safari Nick Talbot Price was very excited by the whale sighting.

“The guests are [were] loving it,” he said.

“It is early in the season [to see whales].

“Hopefully it will be a good season with a bit of luck.”

Mr Talbot Price said the whale sighting lasted about 5-10 minutes.”
