Whitsunday Automotive’s big launch
WHITSUNDAY Automotive has joined forces with 4WD company, Ironman, to turn their mechanical store into a full blown 4WD retail store.
The store will have its grand opening on Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29, during normal opening hours from 9am-5pm.
Business owners Jack Patton and Gina Sokolov started renovations in November last year and can't wait for the doors to open.
"Ironman is a 4WD company which sells parts, accessories, camping gear and outdoor stock and we've always dealt with them, but the way our workshop was set up, we couldn't hold much stock," Ms Sokolov said.
"We then decided to build a wall to separate the workshop and showroom and open an actual retail sector so now it's just Ironman 4x4."
Mr Patton said Whitsunday Automotive still did servicing, repairs, fittings and upgrades in the workshop.
"Anyone who knows our store knows what we do already," he said.
"We used to be a mechanical shop that sold 4WD gear on the side but now we will be a complete 4WD retail store with fitting and servicing."
To celebrate the grand opening, the business will have 4WD cars on display, a jumping castle and lots of goodies for parents and children.
For a gold coin donation, locals can also enjoy a sausage sizzle and buy raffle tickets to go in the draw to win huge prizes.
Ms Sokolov said all money raised would be donated to Fauna Rescue, an organisation caring for sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife.
