Whitsunday Regional Council will sell surplus land
IT WON'T be a fire sale but surplus land will be sold as part of the 2014-15 Whitsunday Regional Council budget to help pay down its $73 million debt.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said parcels of land had been identified as surplus.
"The money raised from the sale of the land also means future rate rises can be limited," he said.
A 2.13 hectare parcel of land on Waterson Way at Airlie Beach will be up for tender.
