Whitsunday tropical getaway festival sold out in 30mins
Travel-starved patrons from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth will descend on the Whitsundays in the first week of October after an inaugural festival planned for the region sold out in less than 30 minutes.
Dream Machine Music Festival is a five day, four night destination event set in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.
Organisers have created a deluxe itinerary set to include island hopping magical Daydream Island, Paradise Cove and a surprise tropical location, with all ferry transfers included.
Festival-goers can also stroll the coral beaches, take rainforest walks, go kayaking, paddle boarding or sit poolside sipping cocktails.
The musical line-up includes Flight Facilities and Hayden James alongside the queen of tropical disco CC: DISCO!, house twins Cosmo’s Midnight, bass lord Touch Sensitive as well as The Jungle Giants and Confidence Man in DJ modes.
Wednesday’s public ticket sales were scheduled for release at noon and sales were exhausted by 12.30pm.
Since last week’s line-up announcement, keen holidaygoers were given the opportunity to subscribe for Monday’s pre-sale tickets which were also snapped up within minutes of release.
There was huge interest in the presale exclusive offer with more than 10,000 subscriptions.
Tourism Whitsundays chief executive Tash Wheeler described the festival as “another world-class event added to this year’s calendar”.
“A sold out event shows just how excited people are to get back to their music festivals and begin celebrating once again,” Ms Wheeler said.
“Tying in a great line up with an idyllic location such as the Whitsundays is the perfect combination for a music event.
“We look forward to having Dream Machine right here in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef for their inaugural festival.”
Dream Machine Music Festival takes place on October 6 to 10.
