Woods and Werner win
Despite conditions that saw most players finish their rounds in the February Airlie Beach Hotel monthly medal soaked to the skin, Chris Phillips braved the situation to take out the overall win as well as the C grade title on Saturday with 62 nett.
A grade winner was Conrad Werner (66), three ahead of runner-up Darren Jones (69).
The B grade title went to Nick Watson (63), beating Pascal Neunreuther into runner-up position with 66 nett, while C grade runner-up was Andrew Albergo on 67 nett.
Mel Patullo took out the ladies Green Energy Technologies monthly medal for February with 72 nett, as well as taking out nearest the pins on two and nine.
Runner-up was Jill Farinelli (73), ahead of Wendy Bradley (79).
Nearest the pins went to Chris Doblo on No.2, Pascal Neunreuther (9), and Conrad Werner (16).
The two shot club was shared five ways with Pascal Neunreuther, Troy Smith and Rob Stanley all birdying 13, while Finbar O'Flynn and Conrad Werner sunk it for two on 16.
Thursday players also all left the course soaked to the skin, but this time it was from the very uncomfortable high humidity experienced on the day.
But this didn't deter Bill Woods from taking out the Div.1 competition, and Peter Krause winning Div.2, both with 40 Stableford points.
Steve Stewart was runner-up in Div.1 with 39 points, and Peter Scrivens came in second in Div.2 with 38.
Peter Scrivens took out the 9-hole competition with 21 points, beating Jim Dowell into runner-up position on countback.
Nearest the pins went to Rob Webb (2), Rob Stanley (9), Peter Scrivens (13) and Joe Taylor (16).
This Saturday will be a 4BBB stroke event as well as an individual stroke competition.
Thursday players will compete in a stroke event in two divisions over 18-holes, as well as a 9-hole competition.
