Works restart on Port of Airlie

CONSTRUCTION is expected to start next week on the first of 15 new houses as part of the Port of Airlie project.

Builders started work on the project again on Tuesday after the Christmas break.

Team leader for Hutchinson’s builders, Graham Spence, said there were about 60 workers on the site this week and he expected that to be between 80 and 100 by next week.

He said work on the Boathouse apartments was ahead of schedule.

The 56 apartments are due to be completed by the end of November but he expects it to be finished before that.

He expects work on the resort to be started by mid-year.
