Year 7 graduates rewarded

ABOUT 160 people piled into the Proserpine RSL Sub Branch for the St Catherine’s Year 7 graduation dinner on Monday night.

Each student received an award for their contribution to the school and there was also four major awards given out to the highest achievers.

The major award winners were:

  • Dux: Byron Thompson
  • All rounder: Brooke May
  • Sports person of the year: Ben Fenech-Brebner
  • Spirit of St Catherine’s: Isabelle Silberling

Having graduated from Year 7, the students have their high school years to look forward to.

Student Brooke May has mixed emotions about entering the more senior schooling years.

“It’s a bit nerve racking,” she said.

“But it will be fun I reckon.”

As well as being the stars on the night, the year seven students also provided the entertainment.

Students from the St Catherine’s instrumental program entertained the strong crowd with a variety of singing and dancing groups.
