Young boy gives 200 Christmas hampers to city's homeless
ADRIAN Young doesn't think it's fair not everyone has a home. So he decided to make Christmas hampers for those less fortunate.
With help from his mum and sister, the eight-year-old boy created more than 200 hampers filled with Christmas goodies.
Yesterday, he donated them to The Basement Soup Kitchen.
There were so many hampers that they had to be delivered in a truck donated by Pengelly Truck and Trailer Service.
"We went to all the Woolworths in town and got everything we could for the packs," Adrian said.
"In every food pack there are wafer sticks, a can of baked beans and spaghetti, soft drink, crackers, a bag of lollies and a knife, fork and plate."
Nat Spary of The Basement Soup Kitchen said Adrian was an inspiration not only to him, but to others.
