Woman, 19, hit by ute at crossing dies, driver charged
FRIDAY 11.40AM: The Queensland Police Service says a 19-year-old woman critically injured after she was struck when on a pedestrian crossing at Caboolture has died.
The incident occurred on Pettigrew St about 8.30pm on Tuesday night.
A 33-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with driving a motor vehicle while over the limit.
He allegedly had a blood-alcohol content of .114 per cent.
WEDNESDAY 7AM: A young female cyclist is fighting for life after she was allegedly struck by a ute and dragged in Caboolture last night.
It is understood the Caboolture woman, 19, was riding across a pedestrian crossing on Pettigrew St around 8.30pm when she was allegedly struck by a ute and dragged along the road for a distance before the vehicle stopped.
She was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital hospital in a critical condition with severe head injuries.
Police have charged a 33-year-old male from Caboolture with drink driving.
The driver allegedly returned a positive result of .114 per cent.
He is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on November 29.
Police investigations are ongoing.
