Young talent is headed our way

THE Queensland Youth Orchestra (QYO) is embarking on a 50th anniversary tour and they're heading our way.

A band of 38 members, the QYO will be in Proserpine next weekend and with experienced and highly talented youths, their performance will be one to remember.

The QYO will perform Rossini's Overture to Cinderella, Beethoven's Symphony No.4, Lloyd-Webber's Think of Me from Phantom of the Opera and many more on Saturday, July 9.

Providing the vocals will be soprano Anna Stephens, with her experience and passion sure to leave no one disappointed.

Ms Stephens performs as a soloist with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, is a lead soprano with Canberra's Opera by Candlelight in Albert Hall and performs with the Brisbane base Underground Opera Company.

Conducting the orchestra will be Sergei Korschmin, who has given many recitals during his time.

A conductor with QYO since 2003, Mr Korschmin has performed in Moscow, Tambov, Vladimir, Novgorod and in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and more.

Mr Korschmin is also the conductor of Queensland Youth Orchestra 2 and has been guest conductor with the Queensland Youth Symphony and Western Australian Youth Orchestra.

Make sure you're at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre to see these young instrumentalists.

They're bound to leave you breathless.
