Zumba to raise funds for Heart Kids

NO PARENT could imagine watching one of their children having to undergo open heart surgery, but for Zumba Fitness Whitsunday chief instructor Kossy Halemai, this was his reality.

His daughter Lanais Halemai was flown to Brisbane for surgery in October last year.

Mr Halemai said it was Lanais' active, sporting lifestyle that lead to the family discovering she had severe pains in her chest that were the result of a blocked artery in her heart.

Mr Halemai said Lanais has made a full recovery and now wants to help raise vital funds for the Heart Kids Foundation.

Zumba Fitness Whitsundays will be hosting the Zumba Kids Concert this Saturday, with all profits going to the foundation.

Doors open at 6pm with the little star party to perform at 6.30pm and the big star party at 7pm.

There will be a barbeque dinner for a gold coin donation and a range of refreshments available.
